Researching needs for the new generation of women
We have a history of responding to the needs of our young women for over 100 years. As the needs of the generations have changed, so has the delivery of our services.
In 2010 we surveyed* young women in Kapiti Mana, Porirua, Hutt Valley and Wellington city. The priority needs indicated by the results for young women in our regions today were:
- Wellington: Relationships and Money/Budgeting
- Hutt Valley: Relationships
- Upper Hutt: Studies and Education
- Porirua: Relationships
- Kapiti-Mana: Health
The top five preferences for programme/courses to attend across the regions were:
- Self confidence/self defence
- Job/career
- Money (savings and budgeting)
- Cooking
- Relaxation/meditation.
